Gaia Ines Fassò (she/her) London, U.K.
FOUNDER and CEO
Experiences and Key Skills: I started my career in policy and strategy roles at large institutions including the UN and Accenture. Following an itch to build instead of consult and guided by great mentors, I moved into the Tech sector. I built and led accelerator programmes and later, at Anthemis VC, I incubated a profit-with-purpose business focussed on an equitable future of Finance. At a time of personal and professional transition, I learned about the Japanese concept of "Ikigai" and started to document the struggles of hundreds of young people navigating their life transitions from education to work. The inklings of IKiGAI DATA - and of my purpose were born from there.
What I love: Learning. Inventing new recipes (guinea pigs always wanted!). Time spent in nature, with family and friends. The jaw dropping wisdom of the young people I work with.
What I want to contribute to the world: A space where everyone can shape their own narrative - and use it to make a positive contribution to the World.

Dave Herman
FRACTIONAL CHIEF DATA SCIENCE OFFICER
Experience and Key Skills:
I have over 12 years of experience researching and managing data/algorithms in: psychometrics, human-machine interaction, psychophysics, biophysics, robotics, MRI, image processing, machine vision, time-series algorithms, matching, recommendation, & reinforcement algorithms, animal-models, control systems, cost-optimization models, and iterative bayesian methods. Previously head of #Data Science, Bird, PhD Neuroscience, University of Souther California.
What I love doing and want to contribute to the world: My passions include understanding human behaviour at mass scale and leveraging those insights to build truly transformative experiences that improve as many lives as possible. Fundamentally, I believe that data science is NOT machine learning, but is an iterative quantitative science that uses many different domains including experimental design, closed form algorithms, statistical learning (ML), dynamic visualization, etc. to use data to improve products. -
Ava Kate
AMBASSADOR OF THE MONTH
I'm Ava Kate and I'm from England. I'm currently studying a liberal arts degree at the University. of Bristol I have been involved with Ikigai Data since the very first Career Discovery sessions in which I was originally a participant. In these sessions, I learnt to make career decisions based on my own interests as opposed to pleasing others. As a student ambassador, I am looking forward to giving others the same experience of self-discovery that I have had and to carry on learning about myself and my passions.
